I’m Brendan Tully, I’ve spent most of my adult life neck-deep in technology, servers, and the moving parts that make the web work.

I started in the SEO space in the early 2000s. At the time, me and a friend ran a small IT support business and ended up acquiring a small online store. We grew that business very rapidly from low 6 figure revenues to mid 7 figure revenues primarily through SEO and expanded from a team of 2 to a team of over 25 people.

In 2008 people started asking about this thing called SEO and ranking higher in Google and from there I started an SEO agency focussed solely on Australian small businesses, The Search Engine Shop.

At the time, we were doing web design and website builds as part of our SEO work and customers started asking to make their websites faster. With my background in IT, this “technical SEO” came easily to me and we wrote a blog post about “how to fix slow WordPress”

That blog post has now been seen by millions of people and in 2016, we created our WPSpeedFix service because so many people were emailing asking for help after reading the blog post.

That service started as a simple $79 service where we’d install a few plugins, setup Cloudflare and compress images.

Over time, the WPSpeedFix service has evolved into a fully fledged agency and brand of it’s own where today we offer Technical SEO audits, SEO consulting services, Core Web Vitals Consulting and Site Speed Optimization as well as Fully Managed WordPress Hosting through our WPAlpha brand.

We’ve also created software products to help us in our work:

Vital Signs Tracker which tracks the speed over every single user on your site. It eliminates all the guesswork from site speed optimization and website performance optimization.

Simple Uptime -> downtime means ZERO speed and we built Simple Uptime as a tool to monitor website performance and uptime.
