How To Share Cloudflare Account Access

Cloudflare now enforces two factor or two step authentication on all accounts. This means you can no longer share a single Cloudflare account or logon across multiple users.

Shared account access was previously a feature available for the higher level paid Cloudflare accounts but is now available on all accounts. The video below explains how to share Cloudflare access with other users.

0:00Why Cloudflare Accounts Can No Longer Be Shared by Logon

Cloudflare is powerful, and it now has two-factor or two-step authentication on all accounts. What that means is that if you're trying to log into a Cloudflare account from a new IP address, it will first send an email to the email address on file for that account. It will send a PIN number that you have to enter to get access. That's great for security, but it's not very convenient for other people accessing, or multiple people accessing, the one Cloudflare account.

The way around that is we add other people as a user on the account. That's a fairly new feature that wasn't available just a few months ago. In order to do that, we log in to Cloudflare, so the console looks like this when you log in. Then just click the Members link in the menu and add the email addresses of the other accounts. In this case it's the WP Speed Fix support address, and that will give our team access.

We'll send them an invitation to get access, so hit the invite button and that's pretty much it. They'll need to accept that invitation to get in, and they'll also need to have a Cloudflare account. It might throw up an error if you're giving someone else access and they don't have an existing Cloudflare account, which is easily fixed by going to the Cloudflare website and signing up. That's it, pretty straightforward. That's giving another user access to the Cloudflare account.
